After having settle at your accommodation we will take you for a short but exiting mtb ride on the outskirts of the city of Cape Town. Our ride traverse the steep slopes of Table Mountain on loose gravel jeep track and technical single. Followed by a cycling liaison on tarmac across to Signal Hill. This latest addition of mountain biking trails in Cape Town takes us down a steep single toward the city bowl before heading in a northerly direction along the full length of Signal Hill testing your skill and fitness level with ruts and rocks, finishing with Heartbreak Hill climb to a great viewpoint. Last but not least the ride to take us around Lion's Head on a level and scenic coastal trail. The terrain is rugged and technically unforgiving, rocks are bound to rear their ugly heads every so often, be focused! The loop around Lion's Head give spectacular views of Cape Town expensive city bowl and beautiful beaches.     JEEP & SINGLE TRACK WITH ROCKY SECTION

Breakfast and ride through the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, with its charming character, historic architecture and oak-lined avenues, it is a must to visit on anyone's itinerary. The first farms were allocated before the   end of 1679, the village was formally established in 1685. Salut! A touch of France is coming our way in today's ride as we will be heading toward Franschhoek.

Crank up into cloud country for your first killer climb of the day through shady plantations up the north slopes of Jonkershoekberg. From here, you descent into the Banghoekrivier valley, you will encounter the middle section of our trail winding its way past lush green fields, orchards, well-kept farmsteads and wine estates to refill our liquids...

Following the course of the Berg River, expect a rollicking ride before ascending the stunning Franschhoek Mountain slopes for the second serious ascent of the day, before yet another tricky descent towards home.

JEEP TRACK & SINGLE TRACK IN OVERBERG AREA

Be buoyed by the knowledge that today’s ride is the longest of all four days and not the easiest! Healthy breakfast followed by a short transfer to the top of the Franschhoek pass, for a scenic tarmac warm-up ride of 8km down to the purgatory, where we enter the Theewaterskloof nature reserve. The track around the dam is gentle and undulating, a variety of antelopes may be spotted as well as Eland and Cape Mountain Zebra. Conservative riding is best; don’t beat yourself up here as the main course of the day is still to come! We will have a short transfer of 30mn with the minibus to the start of our next MTB trail alongside the Groenlandberg nature reserve. The rich and diverse fauna and flora of the region make this an interesting route, with the many natural obstacles adding to the challenge. The trail will follow the track of an old wagon road linking the two valleys. As you gain altitude and test your fitness, the magnificent view down below reveal the valley. From the top of the pass it is all down, grab the handlebars! Some sections require technical ability and prudence. Our lunch stop will be on route.

To make sure all your lunch calories are burnt, we have left you with the main course of the day an ondulating jeep track follow by a bike porterage down an old historical wagon road and to finish by a fast & furious down hill home, enough to keep you smiling.
