The annual Cape Town cycle ride is not the only way to safely tour the Cape Peninsula on two wheels.

We do all the hard work of finding and planning routes and place to stay and you just relax and enjoy the ride!

This two day Self-Guided Mountain Bike Tour (with loan GPS unit and pre-loaded route) from Cape Town to the Cape of Good Hope, is one of the best ways to get to the South Western most tip of the African continent.

While you feel the wind in your hair with the mountains on one side and sea on the other, we transfer your luggage and take the hassle out of a great cycling holiday.

The route starting from Signal Hill to Tafelberg is all on tar, this will give you time to familiarise yourself with the bike before hitting the more demanding terrain. The first off road section is down and undulating like a roller coster as its winds is way around the front of Table Mountain towards Rhodes Memorial. As we leave Table Mountain a short stretch of single-track will led you down to Newlands.The ride goes through  the quiet and exclusive suburb of Bishopscourt, Kirstenbosch and back onto the beaten track of the Constantia Greenbelt towards Tokai Forest - The Mecca of Mountain biking on the Peninsula. Tokai Forest is criss-crossed by gnarly single-track routes.. up and up until you reach the contours path leading to the Silvermine Nature Reserve, breathless but elated. Allow yourself time to take in the incredible views across the Cape Flats, False Bay and Cape Point.

From here a short but challenging circular route on jeep track with steep gradient will take you up to Noordhoek Peak (optional), before heading down toward Ou Kaapse Weg, finaly reaching Noordhoek home base of our overnight stop.

After breakfast served at the guest house an easy cycling day await toward your final destination, the Cape of Good Hope. Today's ride is all on tar, mostly along the superb coastal road past small seaside town & villages. From Nordhoek you will have a short transfer to the start of your journey. Get ready and go! The route will take you through the tranquil seaside village of Kommetjie. Soon a steady but breathtaking climb all along the coast begins, affording good views of the Atlantic and the Slangkop lighthouse. The twisting, turning road traverses Slangkop, the hills reach average heights of 370 meters and then descends toward the coast again. Soon another village welcomes you Scarborough this sleepy village is a favourite for fishermen, as you continue look across towards the ocean for your first glimpse of the Cape Point Nature Reserve, part of the Table Mountain Nature Reserve. Cycling on past windswept eucalyptus trees, ostrich pace gracefully through the fields of the Cape Point Ostrich farm on the left, pass the colourful souvenir stalls a sharp turn to the right for the entrance of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. The first grand view of False Bay welcomes you to the park, the distance from the entrance gate to Cape Point is 13km. Once in the reserve the undulating road gradually descent onto the vast plateau, thickly growing shrubs are woven into endless flowery carpet (except in winter). The main road will take you to the most Westerly tip of the African continent "Cape of Good Hope" as well as to "Cape Point". Encompassing 7750 hectares of rich and varied flora and fauna the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve is a place to embrasse nature, you may see some wildlife along the way Ostrich, Bontebok, Cape Eland, Baboons, Cape Mountain zebra, it is a nature enthusiast paradise.

Walk around to explore the area and wander up to the old historical lighthouse before your mid-day afternoon rendez-vous with our guide who will take you back to Cape Town, before stopping at the African Penguin colony.

You will be back in Cape Town late afternoon.
