Growing up in Franschhoek surrounded by mountain ranges, it was quite natural for him to end up in the saddle of a mountain bike...in the mountains of course!
Throughout his high school he enjoyed taking part in various competitions and casual rides with his friends on homemade MTB tracks running through forestry plantations and all over the village but after a bad fall back in '96 he was left bike less and scarred (more emotionally than physically) for almost a decade until only recently, that he started to reclaim his place among dirt lovers as one of the most enthusiastic riders out there today.
Having survived last years' Swazi Frontier 3day race (covering a total of over 180km) he is keenly looking forward to taking part in the Sani2c coming up this year. He is always out there looking for new routes and contributes to the design of some of our best tours.
He is probably on his bike right now...
